sieze every opportunity!

Friday 18th Aug 2006: Ended Lab and was walking off with 2 labmates. the girl asked me what i was doing after that and so i told her i'm meeting this non christian girl who emailed crusade wanting to find out more about Christ. am doing G.I.G (Group investigating God) with the non christian girl. my labmate went "oh! so you're a Christian? do you like pray before you eat?" and i replied "err, yea i do. why?" she went "oh! really? so interesting! i've never seen anyone done that before. only saw it on tv."

she turned to the other friend and asked him if he's also a christian and that labmate said that he's not. he's unsure if he's a buddhist or a free thinker. then he went on telling us that he is really interested to wanna know more about the differnt religions. he reads his dad's buddhist manual. he even walked into a mosque one day to get the free leaflet that provided him with more info about what the religion is all about. at that point, i asked him if he has read a bible. he said no and so i asked him why and what's stopping him. he claims that he doesnt know how and where to get hold of one. i asked him if he's got one, will he read? he said yes at that very instant. told him i'll get him one the following monday!

it's so funny how God creates opportunities for each one of us to bring forth His good news. i know i didnt do much at that point in time. i didnt preach to them. but i know that i seized that opportunity to give that labmate God's word. yes, i gave him a bible on monday. i know that God's amazing and that He works thru many ways. i dont know (yet) how/when He's going to speak to my labmate, but i know that i've done my part at that point in time. i may have sown the seed but ultimately, it's God who grows them. [I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So that neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 1 Corinthians 3:6-7] i'm glad that God caused me to be senstitive enough to Him, that i didnt just let that "opportunity" slip me by. :)

met up with the girl who emailed crusade who was keen to do GIG. the supposed 5mins meeting became an hour. she was asking quite a lot about God and stuff. seriously, i was really scared cos i didnt know what to expect as it was my first session of GIG. went to meet her by faith. told God all i needed was Him cos the girl whom i'm meeting wants to know more about Him. was praying and asking God not to "pang seh" me! =p really thank God for his wisdom and annointing. it was a good one hour. she read a bible quite sometime ago and i suspect she read the KJV. it's really those "olden day english"!! she said that it was so dull, boring and she hardly understood what was written and so she "threw" it aside. told her that there are other versions and asked if she was keen to read. she said yes before i can even finish my sentence! and so we arranged to meet on monday for me to hand her a bible. and yes, i met up with her and passed her the bible already. am intending to give her a call at the end of this week to see how is it coming along.

it's been a really exciting journey with God. really! my heart's burdened for the lost. those who've yet to know Him.

Lord, You've placed that burdened in my heart. i pray that You'll con't to keep me close and sensitive to You so that when You call, i'll be able to hear You. keep my focus on You and only on You Lord. In Jesus Name, Amen :)
