Psalm 119:105

i walk to school everyday from hall. it wasnt until today that as i was walking to school to meet some crusaders to go for dinner, that i realised that the slope leading up to Canteen A is so steep. i mean, i do know that it is steep, but just that i was just totally oblivious of its steepness. it was today, this evening to be exact, at around 1850hrs that as i was walking up that slope again, did i look up and realised that it was so steep. at that instant, the walk suddenly seemed so tiring. ok ok, walking up that slope has never been a breeze, but just now, as i lifted my head up and look ahead of me, the walk just seemed more challenging.

just at that instant, God spoke. He brought me to the verse that says "Your word is the lamp unto my feet and light unto my path" -Psalm 119:105

you know, a lamp aint that bright. it can only light up the path before you. you dont exactly know or are able to see what is ahead of you. but you know that since God is the source of the lamp, you're able to just take that step of faith and follow the lighted path even though venturing into the darkness seems more exciting at times.

and through that i actually realised that each morning as i walk to school, sleepy me tends to just look down and keep walking. i actually dont remember looking up, looking ahead. seriously, i cant remember. and so i didnt exactly realised the steepness of the slope till this evening.

if God has shown me the entire path of my life, i think i'll be really scared. i guess it's just human nature that when you know what is to come and that if that something that is to come aint too pleasant, you'll tend to not wanna move or perhaps even run away.

how clever God is! He lights it up bit by bit. allowing you to know part by part of His plan He has for you, slowly building you up with confidence through the trails He has walked you through. walking step by step aint as tired as knowing how steep the slope is and trying to conquer it using one's own strength. (afterall, we're to rely on God's strength, not our own! amen? ;) )

it's so amazing how God is actually constantly talking to us. if only we would give Him our attention, if only we would involve Him in our lives, if only we would allow Him to walk with us through our day and enjoy it with Him. if only we would.

God is God afterall, He could have forced His way into our lives, He could have MAKE us listen to Him, or even force us to accept Him as our Lord and Saviour. (i mean, He's God! He can do all things!) but He didnt. He is gentlemanly. He created us, YOU and me, giving us freewill. we are given the will to decide what we want in our lives.

i've chosen, i've decided. i've accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, my King and Friend. have you?
